The county will host its first-ever countywide Earth Day Celebration, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Chickasabogue Park, located at 760 Aldock Road in Eight Mile. The event will feature more than 40 exhibitors with giveaways, food trucks, plant vendors, a Kid Zone area with face painting, healthy cooking demonstrations, pet adoptions from the Mobile County Animal Shelter, a blood drive by LifeSouth, and even an “Amazing Race” competition. Exhibitors will include municipalities, local utilities, first responders, community service organizations and non-profits.

FREE rabies vaccine vouchers will be given out while supplies last and 100 trees in 15-gallon containers will be among the available giveaways.

The day will be filled with education, fun and entertainment! The Mailman & the Back Pew Riders will perform LIVE music along with Theodore Arthur & The Gulf Coast Jazz & Blues Orchestra and Envy Dance Centre is scheduled to dance.

The event is FREE and open to the public. Attendees are asked to donate a canned food item to help support Feeding the Gulf Coast.
