Government Plaza Maintenance Forces Closure of Joachim St. Doors

Posted on: Feb 16th, 2016 | News and Announcements

The east-side doors at Government Plaza have opened today to the public rather than next week after work window-cleaning crews finished up the east-side glass panels earlier than expected. Meantime, cleaning crews started work on the west-side doors, unexpectedly leading to closure of Joachim Street today while a towering crane occupied the roadway. The street is expected to be open to traffic tomorrow. For the next three weeks, the public may use the doors on Government or Conception Streets for entrance to the Plaza. Meantime window-washing will continue on the Joachim Street side. This is the first time since Government Plaza was erected that the outdoor window panels have been washed. The window project is part of a $1 million maintenance and upgrade project for Government Plaza.
