MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. -- Beginning Jan. 4, 2025, work on the Mobile Government Plaza roof replacement project proceeds to its north tower.

A second crane will be placed in the courtyard between Mobile Government Plaza and the Government Plaza Annex to lift materials into place on the north tower roof. Cranes will remain in place on the south and east sides of Mobile Government Plaza until the roof replacement project is complete.

Please note:

  • Drivers and pedestrians should use caution in the area.
  • Overhead protection scaffolding is in place and cranes will be lifting materials into place on the roofs of both the north and south towers.
  • Spotters and flaggers will guide traffic and pedestrians during lifts.
  • The crane at 203 Church Street will remain in place.

The roof work is not on the Atrium of Government Plaza. It is on the office area towers, which are original to the building.
