Linsley Promoted to Director of Facilities & Maintenance

The Mobile County Commission recently promoted Eric Linsley to Director of Facilities and Maintenance. He served as Interim Director of Facilities and Maintenance for seven months before this appointment.
In his new role, Linsley’s responsibilities include leading Mobile County’s Facilities and Maintenance function and overseeing the departments of Building Maintenance, Electronics, Custodial, and Facilities Engineering and Design. Duties include directing, monitoring, and planning for the Facilities and Maintenance Department’s financial, personnel, and operational activities, as well as the maintenance of Mobile County’s more than 100 buildings.
Linsley was also appointed by the Mobile County Commission to the Mobile County Communications District (911) Board on March 25, 2024. He will complete the term ending Nov. 12, 2025, which was held by retired County Administrator, Glenn L. Hodge.
Linsley has worked for Mobile County Commission for 30 years, serving in increasingly responsible positions including Deputy Director of Facilities and Maintenance, Director of Public Safety Communications (18 years), Electronic Systems Supervisor, and Electronic Systems Analyst II. His work has made Mobile County safer, for example through the implementation of Incident Command Interoperability Communications systems funded through Department of Homeland Security grants.
He has received commendations for his work from Mobile County, Alabama State Senate, and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials. Additionally, Linsley has presented at the state and regional levels on effective systems.
Linsley is a member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials and the National Fire Protection Association. In addition to an Associate of Applied Technology Degree in Electronics from Southwest State Technical College, Linsley holds an FCC license and numerous certifications including from the Alabama Local Government Training Institute, FEMA and the Association of County Commissions of Alabama.
