March Road Bridge Completed; Road Opens Today

Posted on: Jun 19th, 2014 | Announcements

March Road from the I-10 Service Road to Wells Road North will be opened to traffic late today after six months of construction work to build a new bridge over Jackson Creek. County commissioners had funded the project as part of an ongoing effort to upgrade bridges as vehicular loads on the roadways increase and new materials make it possible to build sturdier structures. The old bridge was built in 1964 and while there were no structural faults, it was posted for load restrictions. The new two-lane bridge is 120 feet long and meets all current design criteria. ###
