Mobile County Announces Earth Day Art Contest Winners

In celebration of Earth Day, Mobile County students in grades K through 12th were given the opportunity to create artwork inspired by the theme "Invest In Our Planet."

Submissions were exclusively comprised of fully recycled/reused materials. The artwork included elements such as Painting • Collage • Sculpture • Drawing • Product designs from found objects.

Students competed for a chance to win certificates, prizes, and more! Winners were selected from six grade levels including: K-1st • 2nd & 3rd • 4th & 5th • 6th, 7th & 8th • 9th & 10th • 11th & 12th

$500 classroom grants were awarded to the winning student's class to be used to enhance environmental learning.

Mrs. Megan Livingston’s 3rd-grade Class from North Mobile County Christian School won in the 2nd & 3rd-grade level division. The artwork of Brenna Reed, Molly Lowery, Lily Burton, Parker Paige, Sarayah Gildersleeve, and Tenley Martin was highlighted.

Also, Mrs. Livingston’s 5th-grade class won in the 4th & 5th-grade level division. The artwork of Adelyn Adams, Isabella Peters, and Aubrey McIntyre was highlighted.

Ms. Alesha Spencer’s Class from Denton Magnet School of Technology won in the 6th, 7th & 8th-grade level division. The artwork of Bria Poellnitz, Trixie Apawan Libusana, and Jovanni Hernandez was highlighted.

All artwork is on display at Mobile Government Plaza until May 31st.
