Posted on: Mar 3rd, 2017 | Announcements

Tanner Williams Community Park is now open for play. On Friday, Commissioner Connie Hudson unveiled the renovations to the park. The project, which was supported by funds from Commission District 2, totaled more than $850,000. Improvements to Tanner Williams Community Park include: the addition of a concession/restroom building, asphalt parking with security lighting, playground equipment with shade structures, a splash pad, softball field lighting, practice softball field backstop fencing and additional concrete walks and bench seating. ?We are so very thankful to Commissioner Hudson,? said Felicia Cooley, president of the Civic and Historical Society of Tanner Williams Community Park. ?We were in need of restrooms and a concession area,? Cooley added. ?This will definitely improve the quality of life for our citizens, and we are sure to have more community involvement at our park.? ?The improvements made at the park were needed and well overdue,? said Commissioner Connie Hudson. ?I hope to create better, safer facilities in District 2 for the community to enjoy.?
