Spooktacular Animal Adoption Event Continues Through Howl-O-Ween

Posted on: Oct 27th, 2014 | Announcements

Because of the large turnout at Saturday?s free animal adoption event, the Mobile County Animal Shelter is extending its Spooktacular Adoption Event through Howl-O-Ween, Friday, October 31. Thanks to media publicity and donations to the shelter, Mobile County was able to adopt out 26 animals on Saturday. A crowd of 96 people visited the shelter during the four-hour adoption event. There are 17 dogs and one cat from the original list that were not adopted out Saturday and the shelter will be honoring the low-cost and free adoptions originally advertised until Friday. The free adoptions are for animals one year and older. Puppies and kittens are available at half price. The cost is being subsidized by donations from the public. Also providing support to the shelter is Nestlé Purina PetCare Company in St. Louis, which delivered three pallets of pet food to the Mobile County Animal Shelter. Savings from the food donation will go toward future free adoption events. The shelter is located at 7665 Howells Ferry Road, one mile off Schillinger Road. Animals available for adoption may be viewed at www.mobilecountyanimals.com.
