Temporary Road Closure: Tanner Williams Road at Zeigler Boulevard

UPDATE JULY 11, 2024: Tanner Williams Road at Zeigler will be closed for one more week due to weather delays and an unexpected complication. Mobile County Engineering expects to completely reopen Tanner Williams Road by the evening of July 19. Zeigler Boulevard remains open.

 

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. -- Tanner Williams Road at Ziegler Boulevard will be temporarily closed to through traffic by Mobile County Engineering the morning of Tuesday, July 9, until approximately 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, for construction related to the widening of Tanner Williams Road. Zeigler Boulevard will not be closed.

The marked detour is Schillinger Road and Ziegler Boulevard.  

All construction activities are weather-dependent.

This temporary closure is in Mobile County Commission District 2.

The widening of Tanner Williams Road is a $15 million, 2-mile-long Pay-As-You-Go Transportation Improvement Program project. Construction began in 2022 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2025.
